Community Grants Program

The City of Marion Community Grants Program Round One 2017/2018 opened on Tuesday 3 October. Applications closed at midnight on Monday 6 November 2017.

Grants of up to $2,000 are available as well as up to $5,000 grants and one up to $10,000 grant.

Grants are offered in the following categories:

  • Environment
  • Community Development
  • Arts and Culture
  • Sports & Recreation
What is the Community Grants Program?

Through its Community Vision and Strategic Plan, the City of Marion has expressed a strong commitment to the provision of support to its community.

The purpose of the Community Grants Program is to assist local non-profit community groups and organisations to establish and undertake innovative projects or activities that are of benefit to the community and which support the Strategic Plan - Towards 2040 which can be viewed on the Marion's Strategic Directions page.

Grants are available to support non-profit groups to develop new projects benefiting the community. No matter how large or small your group is, if you have an idea for a project, then you may be eligible for a grant.


Community information session

An information session was held on Thursday 12 October at 6.30pm in the Council Chamber which included advice on completing the online application and an opportunity to discuss your project with Council staff.


Submitting your application

Applications are submitted online by completing the Community Grants Program Online Application Form.


Do you have an Australian Business Number (ABN)?

As part of the application process you will be required to provide an ABN.

Community Grants Program timeline

Please be advised of the process that will occur after applications close on 6 November 2017:

  • 7 November 2017
    Panel meets to assess applications.
  • 12 December 2017
    Recommendations are put forward to Council at the General Council Meeting.
    Applicants are then advised of the outcomes via post.
  • 29 January 2018
    Cheque Presentation Ceremony where successful recipients will receive their cheque.
