The Marion Library Service hosts two Writer's Groups, consisting of amateur writers who meet to discuss their work and to provide support and feedback to each other.
These groups offer critiques, encouragement and inspiration to writers of all genres.
When do the Writer's Groups meet?
The groups have the generous support of the Marion Cultural Centre Library.
Group One Meetings
This group is currently full.
Group Two Meetings
Limit: 14 members - Spaces available.
When did the groups form?
The first group was formed in 2007 after several local writers met during a writing workshop with Sue Fleming (Course Coordinator, Professional Writing, Adelaide Centre for the Arts) and convened by Renya Spratt (former Programs and Lifelong learning Coordinator).
Due to popular demand, a second group was formed in January 2012.
How do the meetings work?
Each group is self-managed and often includes written and verbal constructive criticism given in the spirit of honesty and candidness to promote the development and enjoyment of creative writing, concepts and techniques.
