Latest news

To ensure that the dog park is responsive to community needs and is being utilised as intended, the City of Marion has recently undertaken a community survey, which provided the opportunity to comment on the dog park development. 

In response to community feedback, the following actions will be undertaken at Reserve Street Reserve.

  • Placement of an Exeloo toilet will be completed soon. Location will be near the Adams Road entrance to the dog park.
  • Additional shelter and seating will be provided within the dog park in late 2017.
  • A review of the maintenance regime to address grass seeds.
  • Additional rubbish collection each week.
  • Review of the design of the Adams Road car park.

 Dog park

The dog park contains the following features:

  • An enclosed dog park area of 10,110 sqm.
  • 1.8m high black PVC fence with three airlock gate entrances to enable safe access from the park.
  • Dog faeces bag dispensers and bins located at all three airlock gate entrances.
  • Two drink fountains and dog bowls.
  • Two bench seats.
  • An irrigated turf area.
  • Landscape treatments to eastern side for screening.
  • 30m buffer offset from adjacent eastern property boundaries.
  • Great Southern Urban Forest - the inner biodiversity area re-vegetates Grey Box woodlands into the park.

This park is 'off-leash' where dogs don’t have to be on a leash provided they are under effective control and on-leash within 5-metres of the playground.
