Community Grants Program
The City of Marion Community Grants Program Round One 2016/2017 opens on Monday 15 August 2016. Applications will close at midnight on Monday 19 September 2016.
Grants of up to $2,000 are available as well as $5,000 grants and one $10,000 grant.
Grants are offered in the following categories:
- Community Development
- Arts & Culture
- Sport & Recreation
What is the Community Grants Program?
Through its Strategic Plan, the City of Marion has expressed a strong commitment to the provision of support to its community.
The purpose of the Community Grants Program is to assist local non-profit community groups and organisations to establish and undertake innovative projects or activities that are of benefit to the community and which support Marion's Strategic Directions.
Grants are available to support non-profit groups to develop new projects benefiting the community. No matter how large or small your group is, if you have an idea for a project, then you may be eligible for a grant.

Community Information Session
An information session will be held on Monday 22 August at 7pm in the Council Chamber which includes advice on completing the online application and an opportunity to discuss your project with staff.
Submitting your application
- Applications are submitted online by completing the Community Grants Program Online Application Form.
Do you have an Australian Business Number (ABN)?
As part of the application process you will be required to provide an ABN.

Community Grants Program timeline
Please be advised of the process that will occur after applications close on 19 September 2016:
Tuesday 4 October
Panel meets to assess applications.
Tuesday 22 November
Recommendations are put forward to Council at the General Council Meeting.
Applicants are then advised of the outcomes via post.
Monday 5 December
Cheque Presentation Ceremony where successful recipients will receive their cheque.
