Olympic pool

Marion Swimming Centre has a full size, eight-lane, heated Olympic Pool offering plenty of space to cool off as well as a top class training venue for the serious competition or lap swimmer. The grounds are flood lit so that the cool water and grassy surrounds can still be enjoyed on those hot summer evenings.

Learner and toddler pools

The Marion outdoor pool also offers two smaller pools, which are heated, fully shaded and offer a sun-safe respite for younger children and toddlers.

Supervision

The presence of qualified personnel at all times provides peace of mind and ensures the safety and welfare of pool users.

Marion Swimming Centre participates in the Aquatic industries water safety program (Watch Around Water) promoting supervision by the primary carers of young children.

Children under 5 years:

  • Must be constantly supervised by a responsible person (parent or carer)
  • Must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person
  • Must remain within arms reach at all times in the water

Children under 10 years:

  • Must be constantly supervised by a responsible person (parent or carer)
  • Must be within clear view with no physical or structural barriers between you and the child

A child of limited swimming ability regardless of age using a floatation device must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person at all time.

Waterslide

Our waterslide is currently closed as we are replacing it in 2014. We aim to have the new slide up and running for the 2014/2015 season.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Find out more about the waterslide.

Inflatable Obstacle Course - Crazy Race

Crazy Race InflatableThe 'Crazy Race' is a 18 metre long inflatable obstacle course that operates in the deep half of the main pool.

It is quite challenging with several types of obstacles including a tricky zig-zag section, tarzan rope and slide.

Users need to prove they are at least 120cm tall and can comfortably swim 20m. They will then receive a wrist band allowing them access to the Crazy Race.

The Crazy Race will operate school holidays and weekends from 11am to 4pm. There is no charge for using the inflatable.

Non-swimmers with floatation aids or parental assistance will not be allowed on the Crazy Race. Due to adverse weather conditions the inflatable may be closed to ensure safety of all users.

Swimming lessons

Aquarobics (deep water)

Looking for something to help strengthen your core, improve fitness or recover from injury?

Deep water aquarobics is a great way to improve your fitness. It is a 'Zero Impact' exercise program that uses the resistance of the water to give you the work out. You can adjust your intensity of the activity to suit your fitness level or injury.

With the help of floatation belts, participants will float, suspended, with their heads comfortably clear of the water surface.

Classes run:

  • Every Sunday morning 8.30am
  • Wednesday evening 6.15pm and 7.15pm
  • Thursday morning 7am in 1.5 metre water

Class costs:

  • Casual adult pass: $8.80
  • Casual concession pass: $7.40
  • 10 visit aqua pass: $76.50
  • 10 visit aqua pass: $65.70 (concession)

Each session runs for 45 minutes with a qualified instructor.

Bookings are required as there are limited places in the class available.
