Jervois Street Reserve, South Plympton

Jervois Street Reserve in South Plympton offers something for people of all ages with playgrounds, fitness equipment, bike tracks, basketball/netball facilities, a toilet and picnic facilities. The land was purchased by Council from Renewal SA and, after extensive consultation with the community, Jervois Street Reserve was opened in August 2016 for families to enjoy.

  • Street parking on Waterhouse Road and Jervois Street. There are DDA parks on Waterhouse Road.



Jervois Park is 'off-leash' where dogs don’t have to be on a leash provided they are under effective control and on-leash within 5-metres of the playground. Find out more on our dogs in parks and reserves page.

  • 2013: City of Marion purchased the land (with assistance from the State Government) which was previously owned by Renewal SA (Housing SA), to create more open space in the north of the council area for the community to enjoy.
  • 2014: First round of community consultation occurred in July/August where we asked the community to provide feedback about what design and facilities they would like to see at this reserve.
  • 2015 - March/April: Second stage of consultation where we asked the community what they thought of our site plan.
  • 2015 - July: Council endorsed the final concept plan for the reserve development.  
  • 2016 - March: Construction of the new park commenced.
  • 2016 - August: The new park at Jervois Street Reserve was officially opened!
