Public art

Artwork incorporated into the fabric of the site was created by Gerry Wedd and features mosaic spheres and Pudna stones.

In the Kaurna language Pudna means "native well" or "waterhole". See how many stones you can find with Pudna etched on them throughout the rocky river.

About the artist: Gerry Wedd

Born in McLaren Vale in 1957, Gerry is a local artist living on the Fleurieu Peninsula. In the 1980s this young surfer and artist caught the attention of Mambo the surf-wear company and his work often features seaside themes. He is a versatile artist, working in a wide range of media including ceramics, public art, jewellery and fabric design.

Stormwater management

Harbrow Grove Reserve was developed as an innovative setting for stormwater collection, cleansing, storage and reuse.  The development incorporates water sensitive urban design principles to retain and reuse stormwater for irrigation and reduce local flooding.

The key sustainability features of the Harbrow Reserve project are the storm water management, filtration and storage. Once filtered through the bio-retention basin, the storm water is collected in a 140,000 litre rain vault under the reserve.  This storm water is used to irrigate the reserve, specifically the turf area that is used by the local community for passive recreational activities.

Drought tolerant native plantings are incorporated in the reserve to further reduce the need for irrigation.

Dogs

This reserve is 'off-leash' where dogs don’t have to be on a leash provided they are under effective control and on-leash within 5-metres of the playground. Find out more on our dogs in parks and reserves page.

There is a dog drinking bowl at the playground end of the reserve.

There are dog bag dispensers available at this reserve.
