Rajah Reserve – Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation Project
Rajah Street Reserve is now hosting a range of sports coaching clinics and school holiday activities.
Sports coaching for young people has covered bastetball, soccer and tennis while school holiday activities have included roller skating and barbecues.
Rajah Street Reserve was given a $300,000 makeover in 2014 thanks to a partnership between council and the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation - which provided $200,000 of the funding. Council contributed $55,000 along with design and project management and Tennis Australia provided a donation.
The reserve now includes two multi-purpose sports courts, a 40m running track, an irrigated grassed area, soccer goals, a playground and pathways.
For further information about sports coaching and activities at the reserve please contact Julie Higgins, Community Development Project Officer, on 8375 6600.
