Edwardstown Soldiers’ Memorial Recreation Ground revamp
Council has applied for $4 million of Federal Government funding to revamp facilities at Edwardstown Soldiers’ Memorial Recreation Ground.
If successful, Council will match the Federal Government’s $4 million to bring about an $8 million transformation of the club.
Concepts include creating one consolidated facility from three separate buildings that will increase access for clubs and the community.
The project aims to preserve and respect the history of the site, particularly the Memorial Gardens.
The facility currently has a clubhouse, hall and velodrome and cricket, football and bowls facilities.
It is anticipated the results of the funding bid will be known mid-year.
