A new playground in South Plympton has won an award as the best place in Adelaide to take young children.
The Baby and Toddler Destinations Adelaide Facebook page has named Jervois Street Reserve as the Destination of the Year for 2016 in its inaugural awards.
The popular account has 10,000 followers and regularly tests and reviews parks.
Owner of Baby and Toddler Destinations Adelaide, Louise Hayton-Clark, said the park exceeds others in South Australia, especially for families with children up to three years old.
"We have reviewed many playgrounds across the state and feel that this one has left all others far behind," Ms Hayton-Clark said.
"The key reasons why Jervois Street Reserve has won this award is because it is fully enclosed, shaded and safe. This creates a less stressful environment for parents with babies or toddlers.
"It has all the amenities that our followers look for, such as a toilet, barbecues, shaded picnic area and a huge lawn area to run around on. The bike track is most certainly a favourite for toddlers who love to take more risks."
Jervois Street Reserve cost $940,000 and includes junior and senior playgrounds, a central oval, fitness equipment, water play, picnic facilities, and space for three-on-three netball and basketball.
