Interior design and decoration students from Tonsley TAFE have been awarded for transforming an on street parking space on Rundle Street into a 1950s suburban backyard as part of an international event.
PARK(ing) Day is an annual event that sees artists, designers, organisations and members of the public temporarily convert metered parking spaces into themed displays to improve the appearance of streets and promote creativity.
The students won the Adelaide PARK(ing) Day President’s Award – the second year in a row a team from Tonsley TAFE has won.
The September 18 event provided students with the opportunity to meet other creative people, improve their communication skills and discuss design and sustainability issues with the community.
