The City of Marion is considering a redevelopment and expansion of the library and youth facilities at the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre into a Civic Centre for the Southern Community.

The Civic Centre needs to be integrated with the development of the new Connector Road and the Shopping Centre expansion.

Key partners in this project are the neighbouring HC Professional Strata Group and the Shopping Centre owner (the Makris Group of Companies).

Key objectives

Develop civic facilities (library, meeting hall and rooms, youth service, civic plaza) to serve the Southern Community.

Approach

Progress on the Civic Centre is subject to the implementation of the new Connector Road and the Shopping Centre expansion to review the project’s scope and funding method.
