The Marion South Plan contains a range of initiatives that will enhance the area’s environment, improve the range of services and facilities and better connect the three suburbs of Hallett Cove, Trott Park and Sheidow Park.

An initial brochure (pdf file – 503KB) of the Marion South Plan was distributed to the community in March 2003.

After extensive community consultation and a Telephone Survey for the Marion South Plan (pdf file - 191KB) Council amended this first brochure and issued a revised Marion South Plan brochure (pdf file - 349KB) in October 2003.

The Marion South Plan proposes a civic heart for southern Marion and to enhance the southern environment. The key objectives are to:

• Development of a new Connector Road to link the suburbs of Hallett Cove, Sheidow Park and Trott Park
• Investigate the development of a Civic Centre at the Hallett Cove District Centre
• Facilitate the redevelopment of the Hallett Cove Shopping Centre
• Facilitate the development of a Greenbelt of private and publicly owned open space around Hallett Cove, Sheidow Park and Trott Park
• Encourage the rehabilitation of Cement Hill
• Facilitate the redevelopment of the former Hallett Cove Surf Life Saving building
