Are you passionate about issues affecting young people? Would you like to have your say about what’s important to you and would you like to make a difference in your community? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then the City of Marion Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is the place to start!

YAC is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and work with local government. Training opportunities are offered throughout the year in areas such as event management and public speaking.

Excited about an idea for an activity or project for young people? We want to know what you want? We would love your input, and may be able to help you get it started. Drop in or give us a call. We would be happy to have a chat about your idea!

The Cove Youth service is a great place to drop in after school and hang out with your friends, play pool, playstation, big screen movies, pinball and more! There’s also The Space, a funky red black and white room for more mellow pursuits such as surfing the web, reading, or catching up on study.

Check out or regular recreation activities including school holiday programs. Learn to surf, go on a Skate park crawl, movie days and crafts…the list is endless.

Life gets everyone down at times. Feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or having hassles with family? Come and chat to Ben or Sally, or if you like we can introduce you to our friends at Youthlink who offer specialist counselling.

Sharon, from the Keeping Them Safe Program provides counselling for young people who have been sexually abused.

If you have questions or concerns about illegal drugs or alcohol use, You can make a time to have a chat to Veronica from Drug Arm, or Steve from Drug and Alcohol Service of South Australia.

We can help you with Centrelink issues, with a direct link to our freiendly Centrelink Youth Officer, Grant.

Are you struggling to find somewhere to live, couch surfing or sleeping rough, we can put you in touch with support to get into accommodation.

Need support and advice around sexual health, contraception and relationships, we can assist by putting you in touch with the a nurse from Shine, Marion Youth Centre, or The Second Story.

Parenting can be a challenge at the best of times, and Cove youth staff have years of experience working with parents and their adolescents to sort out conflicts and other issues.
