GP Plus Health Care Centre

The GP Plus Health Care Centre will deliver integrated and comprehensive primary health care services. It is incorporated in the implementation of the State Aquatic Centre on the Marion Domain.
The GP Plus Centre is an educational and preventative health care centre that will focus on providing health services to the regional community.
The GP Plus Health Care Centre is a State Government project.

The City of Marion and the State Government together with Aqua43 are working collaboratively to prepare a more detailed design for the concept proposal for the Marion Domain site which was presented for consideration to the Marion Council and State Cabinet in October/November 2007.
The Aqua43 consortium comprises of Candetti Constructions and Macquarie Bank.

BACKGROUND
The GP Plus Health Care Centre was formerly described as the Marion Health Village.
To achieve its vision for a ‘Healthier Community’, the State Government as project manager for the GP Plus Health Care Centre has placed a priority focus on the delivery of accessible and comprehensive primary health care services in various locations throughout the metropolitan area.
After a Request for Proposal stage in early 2007, State Cabinet selected the Aqua43 consortium (comprising Candetti Constructions and Macquarie Bank) to deliver the State Aquatic Centre and GP Plus Health Care Centre.
At its Special Council meeting on 30 October 2007 Council considered the concept proposal presented by Aqua43. The State Government considered the concept proposal in November 2007.
