HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT

ABBEYFIELD
An alternative choice for older people who want to keep their independence
Low level respite option in home-like surroundings
Safe and Affordable

Abbeyfield House is located in a lovely tree lined street in Edwardstown, close to all facilities.

Abbeyfield is a safe, secure and affordable home with individual bedrooms and ensuites for 10 independent older people. Support is provided by a live-in housekeeper who provides the main meals and cleans the common rooms.

Respite is also available for people with low level care, who just need some time to recover before returning to their own home.

There is a shared family kitchen, laundry, sitting and dining room, also a guest bedroom and bathroom so a friend or relative can stay. A large garden provides an ideal opportunity to plant some favourite flowers or vegetables, or just sit back and relax.

All the bed-sitting rooms are private, have en-suite facilities and built-in wardrobes, are fully air-conditioned and heated. Rooms can be furnished with familiar and favourite belongings and residents have their own keys so that they can come and go as they please.

Abbeyfield provides privacy as well as the comfort and security of companionship. The house is managed by a non-profit organisation "The Abbeyfield Society of Marion".

A fully refundable interest-free contribution is payable upon entry, and a single fortnightly rental payment covers meals, light and power.

To become an Abbeyfield resident you need to be eligible for the pension and rent allowance and be sufficiently independent to attend to your own room.

If you are interested in becoming an Abbeyfield resident, or know of someone who might be interested, please contact Phillip phone 82705744, or Joan phone 82984341, either of whom will be happy to assist you.
