Australia Day Awards

The City of Marion Australia Day Awards recognise Marion’s community heroes as part of Australia’s biggest annual celebration. Areas of service can include education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary service, business, sport, arts and the environment.

Nominations open on Monday, 3 October, and close at 5 pm on Monday, 12 December 2022.

Please nominate someone who has made a positive contribution to the City of Marion and give them the opportunity to be acknowledged for their efforts.

Awards are presented in the categories of:

  • Citizen of the Year - Nominee must be an Australian Citizen.
  • Young Citizen of the Year - Nominee must be an Australian Citizen under 30 years of age on 26 January 2023.
  • Community Event of the Year - Recognising a person or group that has staged the most outstanding community event during the past year.
  • Sportsperson / Team of the Year - Recognising an outstanding sports player or team.

The winners will be announced at a special event Thursday, 26 January 2023. All nominees will be invited to attend and will receive a certificate.

The online nomination form is available below. If you require a printed form, these can be collected from the following locations - our Customer Service building located at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt, all City of Marion Libraries and Community Centres.

Nominations must be received by 5 pm on Monday,12 November 2022.
