Australia Day Awards

2018 City of Marion Australia Day Awards

Nominations are now open for the City of Marion Australia Day Awards  which recognise Marion’s community heroes as part of Australia’s biggest annual celebration.  Areas of service can include education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary service, business, sport, arts and the environment. 

Please nominate someone who has made a positive contribution to the City of Marion and give them the opportunity to be acknowledged for their efforts.

Awards are given in the categories of:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year: A person must be an Australian Citizen under 30 years or age on 26 January 2019.
  • Community Event of the Year - For the person or group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the past year.
  • Sportsperson / Team of the Year

The winners will be announced at a special event which will be held at the Marion RSL on Saturday, 26 January. All nominees will be invited to attend and will all receive a certificate.

Nomination must be received by 5pm on Friday, 7 December.
