Asset and Sustainability Committee

While decisions are made at General Council meetings, the City of Marion established an Asset and Sustainability Committee which will hold its first meeting on 2 February 2021. Membership comprises the Mayor and four Elected Members.

Objective

This committee is established for the purposes of advising Council on the development, management and monitoring of Council's strategic management of council assets and Asset Management Plans.

The committee’s terms of reference have been developed having regard to the powers, functions and responsibilities of the CEO and specify the duties of the committee in detail.

In summary, the committee is responsible for: Advising Council on the development, management and monitoring of Council’s strategic management of council assets and Asset Management Plans; Aligning Council’s provision and management of assets and infrastructure to its long-term strategic objectives; Establishing and monitoring community levels of service to justify assets and infrastructure; Monitoring the implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives and strategies, to be a sustainable organisation and support the community to reduce its impact on the environment.

Members

The Asset and Sustainability Committee is comprised of the following members: Presiding Member; Councillor Ian Crossland, Councillor Bruce Hull, Councillor Tim Gard and Councillor Nathan Prior.

Meetings

The Asset and Sustainability Committee meets between February and December each year. Meetings will be held in the Council Chamber at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. The public is welcome to attend.

Meeting dates for 2022 are as follows:

  • 1 February
  • 5 April
  • 7 June - deferred until 5 July
  • 5 July
  • 2 August
  • 11 October
