Review and Selection Committee

While decisions are made at General Council meetings, the City of Marion established a Review and Selection Committee which first met on 1 January, 2017. Membership comprises of the Mayor and two Council Members.

Objective

This committee is established to review, monitor and advise on relevant strategies regarding organisation performance and culture.

The committee’s Terms of Reference have been developed having regard to the powers, functions and responsibilities of the CEO and specify the duties of the committee in detail.

In summary, the committee is responsible for: Sourcing and recommending to Council the appointment of expert members to Committees, reviewing the performance of the CEO, recommending a process to Council for the recruitment of the CEO (as required), Reviewing, monitoring and recommending to Council relevant strategies regarding the organisation's culture and performance associated with the conduct of Elected Members, employees and volunteers, Monitor the organisations direction regarding the efficient and effective delivery of strategic and operational human resource functions and Ensure the organisation has appropriate employee well-being strategies.

Members

The Review and Selection Committee comprises of the following members: Mayor Kris Hanna (Presiding Member), Councillor Matt Taylor and Councillor Jayne Hoffmann.

Meetings

The Review and Selection Committee meets on an as need basis in the Committee Room, 245 Sturt Road, Sturt . The public is welcome to attend.

Meeting dates for 2024 are:

  • 6 February - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
  • 7 May - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
  • 6 August - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
  • 5 November - 5:30pm - 6:30pm
