Welcome to the Mayor's Message column, which aims to keep you up-to-date with what is happening in the City of Marion.
I know our community will join me in celebrating the reopening of Marion’s libraries, neighbourhood centres and playgrounds.
This is great news, however, safety restrictions apply.
There’s a limit of 10 visitors at a time at each venue.
Neighbourhood centres won’t be running their usual programs while COVID-19 restrictions are in place, but people are welcome to drop in for a chat.
Staff and volunteers are distributing activity packs to vulnerable residents, including exercise tips and puzzles.
They are also calling them to check on their wellbeing. People may be physically distanced, but they are being socially connected.
Our Administration centre is also open to the public. Where possible, we ask people to continue to book services online at any time via www.marion.sa.gov.au, or call 8375 6600 during office hours.
The opening hours are:
- Marion Libraries - 9.30am to 5pm
- Neighbourhood Centres - 9am to 4pm
- Administration Centre - 8.30am to 5pm
We have also reopened more than 90 of our playgrounds, skate parks, and outdoor gyms. Please enjoy yourselves while observing the government’s safety rules.
Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon.
Kris Hanna - Mayor of the City of Marion
