Welcome to the Mayor's Message column, which aims to keep you up-to-date with what is happening in the City of Marion.
With Easter approaching, it’s an ideal time to reflect on the importance of caring for each other.
I hope you can relax, rest, and speak to your loved ones and friends. Please check on them – safely - and see if there’s anything you can do to support them.
It’s too easy to neglect people we care for when we are busy. Equally, now we are restricted in what we do and people are anxious, it’s easy to think of ourselves rather than others.
We have all been affected in some way by the spread of COVID-19. Like most organisations, your Council has changed the way it works. Importantly, we are continuing to deliver services, often in new ways, including online.
You can still enjoy many services and activities delivered by our neighbourhood centres and libraries. You can contact staff with questions about development applications or support for vulnerable residents.
Although we may be physically apart from many of the people we care for, we can bridge the gap with a phone call. Let’s remind ourselves what we have to be grateful for.
Please enjoy the long weekend, and I hope you and your family stays safe.
Kris Hanna - Mayor of the City of Marion
