A $30,000 upgrade of McKellar Terrace Reserve in Morphettville has just been completed by the City of Marion.

The upgrade includes a new basketball practice court and a mounded garden bed planted with native plant species.

This project is part of a $90,000 program of upgrades on a group of three parks known as the Morphettville Reserves which include Denham Avenue Reserve, Kellett Reserve and McKellar Terrace.

All of these reserves are located fairly close to each other and under the City of Marion’s Open Space Plan have received some attention in the past financial year.

Last year in Kellett Reserve – a biodiversity area – Council installed a new pathway and planted new native seedlings.

In Denham Avenue Reserve Council installed a bench seat and two ‘picnic pods’ which have been popular with patrons from the nearby cafés.

The City of Marion is committed to making its community a more liveable and connected city that values nature.
