Foyer Concept 1

What’s happening to the foyer?

The foyer at the City of Marion Administration Centre at 245 Sturt Rd, Sturt, is being transformed into a modern service hub.

Improvements will reduce wait times, improve access to specialist staff, and provide greater privacy for customers.

Major works are being conducted out of hours where practicable, however, there will be some dust and noise during opening hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience during building work.

Work began on 25 March and is expected to be completed around 27 May.

How will I access the building during this time?

Work is being undertaken in three stages. Access to the building will be:

  • Stage 1: 25 March to 24 April – rear entrance
  • Stage 2: 26 April to 6 May – front entrance
  • Stage 3: 7 May to 27 May – rear entrance

Dates may vary as the project progresses.

Access to the Council meeting on 25 March will be via the eastern side of the building.

The JP service will be relocated to Cooinda Neighbourhood Centre during construction, after which it will return to the Administration building.

JP services are also available at Park Holme Library and Cove Civic Centre.

Customers are asked to use online services where possible.

What will the improvements to the foyer be?

New foyer will include:

  • Customer Service desk shared with Development Services
  • Self-serve kiosk for payments, looking up public information, booking JP meetings
  • Informal meeting booths
  • New wait area for JP services
  • Electronic visitor sign in for appointments
  • Improved signage
  • New flooring, part new ceiling, walls repainted
  • Automated doors to front entrance to reduce wind and debris entering
  • Automated security shutter

The upgrade builds on Marion’s Customer Service Charter which seeks to improve our residents’ quality of life continuously, smartly and efficiently.

Federal Election Polling Booth

The front entrance will be open on Saturday 18 May 2019 to enable access to Council Chambers which will be a Polling Booth for the Federal Election.
