Rubbish bins are being collected across the City of Marion despite garbage truck drivers going ahead with industrial action affecting other parts of Adelaide.

The City of Marion's Acting Chief Executive, Sorana Dinmore, said Council had been advised by its rubbish collection contractor Cleanaway that bins were being emptied as scheduled in Marion's suburbs.

“The contractor is down a few drivers but Council has been advised it is ‘business as usual’ and we have confirmed that trucks are operating in our area.

“In the event any collection areas are impacted today, Cleanaway has committed to return to collect any missed bins on Saturday

“We advise residents to leave their bins at the kerb until they have been collected in these circumstances."

If bins are not emptied by 5pm on Sunday, please get in touch with Cleanaway online at https://cityofmarion.cleanaway.com.au/, or email marion@cleanaway.com.au or phone: 1800 777 844 (Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm).

Marion suburbs that could potentially be impacted by industrial action include Darlington, Dover Gardens, Hallett Cove (specific areas only), Seacombe Gardens, Seacombe Heights, Seaview Downs, Seacliff Park, and Sturt.

City of Marion has been advised that some recycling bins within Seacombe Heights and Darlington areas were not emptied. Please leave by the kerb for the trucks to collect tomorrow.
