More than 20 people from diverse backgrounds have recently graduated from the City of Marion’s 2022 Community Leadership Program.

This annual program, which has been running since 2009, aims to build community capacity by providing training and network opportunities for community leaders.

A total of 21 Marion residents, ranging in age from 19 to 63 years, completed the program late last year.

The graduates, aged between 19 and 63 years, hailed from different cultural backgrounds with many involved in sporting and service clubs and not-for-profit groups in the City of Marion.

Over two months and 13 sessions, this group received training to enhance their leadership and interpersonal communication skills, and increase networks within the community.

“Each participant has already made an impact in their community and will continue to make the City of Marion a wonderful play to live, work and play,” said City of Marion Community Development Officer Danielle Clark.

The City of Marion will begin recruiting for the next program later this year.
