Meals on Wheels (SA) Incorporated is seeking a 5 year lease term with an option to renew for a further 5 years and has provided Council all relevant documentation in relation to its operation and good governance.

As set out in Council's Leasing and Licensing Policy, where a building is acquired by or gifted to Council, consideration is given to the terms of this arrangement when determining the annual fee.
Contribution to the ongoing repairs, maintenance and renewal costs is considered when determining the annual fee. Council has endorsed applying the minimum fee of $300 per annum plus GST (increased by CPI annually).

Meals on Wheels (SA) Incorporated are a long-standing community service provider to the local community supplying meals to community members in Hallett Cove, Edwardstown and Warradale.
Services are delivered by a volunteer workforce to support members of the community to live independently through:
They express their service as “more than just a meal”.
Meals on Wheels occupy Marion Community House, 175 Oaklands Road, Warradale, a facility they purpose-built at their expense on community land managed by Council. As it is purpose-built, it is in the best interest of the Meals on Wheels to ensure that the buildings are fit for purpose and maintained.
Meals on Wheels (SA) Incorporated have continued to fund all maintenance and have made various improvements since the facilities were built. Building maintenance responsibilities are clearly set out within the lease agreement.
