City of Marion Library Service is proud to announce its first short story writing competition, Life in Shorts. The aim of this competition is to engage with, connect with and encourage and motivate the wonderfully talented writers in the City of Marion community during this time of social isolation, physical distancing and working from home, wearing our shorts!

Open to City of Marion residents aged 18 years & over, the competition celebrates short story writing and invites writers of all genres – fiction or non-fiction – and of all levels of experience to submit their work to be in the running for one of two great prizes. Our winners will be chosen by special guest judge, Lynette Washington – publisher & founder of Glimmer Press.

Competition opens 9am Monday 4 May and closes at midnight Tuesday 30 June 2020 with winners announced 30 July 2020.
