The Oaklands Education Centre and precinct was officially opened on Wednesday 13, March, 2019.
The $200,000 partnership between the City of Marion and Flinders University is bringing science to life for high school and university students with hands-on experience of stormwater testing and monitoring.
The centre contains a classroom for up to 25 students, a field station with direct access to the wetland, and kitchen.
In addition, a rotunda, trike track, basketball and netball area, landscaping and car park have been built near the centre for $640,000. Marion Council invested $338,000 in the precinct and the State Government $302,000.
