Parks and Playgrounds | Shade Sails to be installed at 8 playgrounds ready for this summer (early 2019)

On 26 September 2017 Council endorsed a 5 year $2.25m Shade Program for comprising of both shade sails and the planting of additional shade trees (GC260917R07).

The eight playgrounds to receive shade sails under this program in 2018/19 are Neighbourhood playgrounds under our Playground Framework:

• Barton Drive Reserve, Trott Park
• Brolga Place Reserve, Sturt
• Cadell Street Reserve, Seaview Downs
• Linear Park Reserve, Hallett Cove
• Mulcra Avenue Reserve, Park Holme
• Rosslyn Street Reserve, Clovelly Park
• Scarborough Terrace Reserve, Dover Gardens
• Southbank Boulevard Reserve, Sheidow Park

We are aiming to have the shade sails in place by early 2019.  However there is potential for unforeseen issues with new construction works that may cause delays.
