Rubbish cleanaway

The City of Marion's kerbside waste collection contractor Cleanaway has been the subject of recent media coverage regarding potential planned industrial action this Friday.

There has been speculation that this potential industrial action could lead to kerbside bins not being collected in some council areas.

The City of Marion is working with Cleanaway to clarify the impact (if any) on Marion residents.

In the event that residents' bins are not collected on Friday, Council has been advised that Cleanaway will return to the affected areas on Saturday to empty bins as required.

Marion suburbs that could potentially be impacted on Friday include Darlington, Dover Gardens, Hallett Cove (specific areas only), Seacombe Gardens, Seacombe Heights, Seaview Downs, Seacliff Park, and Sturt.

Residents are asked to leave their bins at the kerb until their bins are emptied.

If bins are not emptied by 5pm on Sunday, please get in touch with Cleanaway online HERE, or email marion@cleanaway.com.au or phone: 1800 777 844 (Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm).

Council will continue to share updates as they are received.
