Discover more about the Kaurna people’s connection to country with two special Walk & Talk Tours being held along the Field River in the southern suburbs of Adelaide.

Funded by Green Adelaide with support from the City of Marion and Trees for Life, the Walk & Talk Tours are being hosted by the Friends of the Lower Field River and Friends of Upper Field River in early November and early December.

The afternoon tours take about an hour with representatives from the Kaurna nation sharing their knowledge of First Nations people along the Field River and their use of the abundant natural plant and wildlife resources along the river, land, and coast.

Members of the Friends groups will also be in attendance to answer questions about their work along the Lower Field River and Upper Field River and how volunteers are revegetating and regenerating sites to increase biodiversity.

The first Walk & Talk is being held along the Lower Field River at 1 pm on Saturday, November 5.

Walkers are asked to meet at Cormorant Drive Reserve, Osprey Court, Hallett Cove.

The second Walk & Talk takes place at Upper Field River and starts at 1 pm on Saturday, December 10, at Trott Park. Walkers should meet opposite house number 106 Woodend Road, Trott Park.

Both events are free of charge, but numbers are limited so registration is essential at https://fieldriverwalks.eventbrite.com.au
