UPDATE - Southern Adelaide Economic Development Board to cease operations
The SAEDB has been a strong voice and advocate for Southern Adelaide since 2007.
Given the current economic environment and the impacts of the coronavirus, the City of Marion and City of Onkaparinga have reviewed the regional approach necessary to best address current and future challenges and have investigated other regional advocacy models.
As a result, funding of the Southern Adelaide Economic Development Board will cease effective 30 June 2020.
Both councils have greatly appreciated and valued the commitment made by current and past board members.
Council CEOs Adrian Skull and Scott Ashby wish to highlight the passion and commitment of board Chair, Nikki Govan, and her efforts to the sustain the economic prosperity of Southern Adelaide in partnership with her fellow board members.
Both councils will maintain their long-standing commitment to supporting economic development through their respective business support programs such as the ‘ON Business Partner’ program and the City of Marion ‘Open for Business’ program.
Regional collaboration will also continue through the delivery of the Southern Business Mentoring Program which provides free business advice, support and mentoring to our southern local business and start-up community. This includes targeted advice in human resource management, digital communications, strategic marketing, retail, health and wellbeing and business planning.
Both councils look forward to ongoing collaboration with each other and their respective business communities and will actively progress innovative strategic ideas and regional projects opportunities arise.
