A brand new coffee spot has landed in the City of Marion creating a platform for individuals with a disability to put their skills on display.

The Summit Cafe is the new tenant at Café 25 at the Glandore Community Centre.

It is an initiative by the Community Bridging Service Inc. (CBS) that provides meaningful employment for people with a disability.

The café is now open, serving coffee and food on-site, but also offering catering services for functions and events across the city.

But it's the impact of the café that goes well beyond the food on your plate. It is an opportunity for those who face barriers to traditional employment to feel empowered.

"The Summit Café will be a popular spot for local residents, and community members visiting the Glandore Community Centre," Mayor of Marion Kris Hanna said.

"We are proud to welcome this new and inclusive business to Glandore."

CBS Projects Coordinator Amelia Rinaldi said they were thrilled to open a third store in the City of Marion.

"The staff are the face of the business, making coffee and arranging catering while being paid at award wages," they said.

"The aim is to promote the skills and abilities of people living with a disability."

The café can be accessed via the Malwa Street car park and is open Thursday to Saturday.

"It’s a great spot to have a coffee while the kids play or to grab a bite after your yoga class," Ms Rinaldi said.

CBS is a proudly South Australian-owned and operated Disability Service Provider specialising in disability employment, NDIS supports and social enterprises to provide innovative and valuable opportunities for people with disability in the community.
