Tell us your thoughts about the future of Tarnham Road Reserve, Seacombe Heights by visiting Making Marion and completing the survey.

About Tarnham Road Reserve

Tarnham Road Reserve is an irregular shaped reserve of 5,411 square metres. Located along Tarnham Road in Seacombe Heights, between Snowden Street and Calum Grove, and immediately west of Seaview High School.

The existing reserve has 8 tennis courts with lighting, retaining walls, fencing, a clubroom and other site infrastructure.

A geotechnical investigation has confirmed that a well or former septic tank is located below the tennis courts and has contributed to the distress and breakdown of the existing courts as well as movement in the retaining walls.

The existing clubroom no longer meets an acceptable standard and Council has recognised that the entire sites infrastructure has reached the end of its useful life.

About the development

At the General Council meeting on 24 November 2020, Council endorsed the draft concept design and approved the commencement of the community consultation process.

The draft concept design encompasses 3,286m² at the eastern end of the reserve. There is a further 2125m² of the reserve at the western end that will be left undeveloped should Council proceed with the project.

The draft concept design includes:
- 4 Courts with lighting (2 Tennis Courts + 2 Tennis/Netball)
- Playground with Climbing Wall and Mega Swing
- Amenities include a Public Toilet, Shelters, Seating and off-street parking (including one all-access carpark).
