A $123,203 upgrade of Wistow Crescent Reserve at Trott Park was unveiled yesterday by the City of Marion.
The upgrade involved the installation of a natural timber multi-station with climbing elements and a slide; a new timber-framed swing and a nature play area with log steppers, balancing logs and stepping stones.
Council also planted new trees and landscaping, created a new pathway into the reserve and installed irrigation, a drinking fountain, and a new bench seat.
A community celebration was held at the reserve this afternoon to mark the completion of works
A facilitator from the City of Marion’s On@CoM Sports Program hosted games for the young people who attended the event.
On@CoM is a free council-funded program for young people aged 5 to 18 years who live within the City of Marion.
On@CoM run different activities throughout the school calendar, including school holidays.
Term 2 activities include Tennis, Hip Hop, CrossFIT, Athletics, basketball, AFL, Squash, Mountain Bike Riding and Volleyball.
