Stage 1 - Reserve Upgrade Completed

Christmas came early in Hallett Cove when Capella Drive Skatepark opened in early December 2021.

This two-stage $3million redevelopment has seen the launch of an expanded car park and the new-look skatepark. Council received $1.29m funding from the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program towards the $3m development.

The Capella Reserve Skatepark provides a multi-discipline STREET and TRANSITION style facility catering to all skill levels and riding styles. Consisting of a snake run bowl and open street plaza the layout pays homage to the much loved aspects of the previous skatepark through contemporary flow lines and unique obstacles.

There is a flatter surface for beginners and skate tricks along with grinding rails and surfaces. There is a mini half pipe for those keen to practice other moves.

Other items include a newly expanded car park, 3 v 3 basketball court, and a curved rock climbing wall.

Additional amenities include a shelter, seating, and a drinking fountain. Stage 2 will add toilets, picnic facilities and ninja warrior fitness equipment.
