Style
Live jazz performance is our forte. We tend to play in the 1920s New Orleans traditional hot jazz style made famous by the likes of Louis Armstrong.
Biography
Atlantic Street Band formed over a decade ago as a collective of graduates of Adelaide University's Elder Conservatorium of Music jazz program. We perform regularly at community, corporate, and private events all around Australia with a focus on the Adelaide Metropolitan area. Two of our core members including leader Chris Weber (trumpet/vocal) live in the City of Marion and we were happy to be invited to perform for our neighbours at the 2023 event, Marion Celebrates! With a focus on traditional New Orleans jazz we have been told that it is obvious to our audiences how much we enjoy playing together. If you're a fan of jazz classics such as Putting on the Ritz, When You're Smiling, and On the Sunny Side of the Street you won't be able to stop your feet tapping once we get started. We were commissioned to write the jingle for the 2024 Adelaide Fringe, so keep an ear out for that. We're open to bookings for any kind of event so please get in touch.
Achievements
We are available for commissioned composing and recording works in addition to being available for live performances at community, corporate, or private events.
