Lesley Redgate

Type:
Visual arts
Location:
Willunga SA

Style

Landscape, still life and portraits using acrylics, watercolour, pen &wash.

Lesley draws inspiration from the changing rural and urban landscape. Herpaintings reflect a vibrancy and visual harmony often found in the harshAustralian environment. Preoccupied with describing structure, geometry andform within the landscape, her work captures the unusual from ordinary scenesrecording the history of the area she lives.

Admiring the work of the Post Impressionists and Australian Modernists,Lesley's palette consists of primary and secondary colours, using simultaneouscontrast to create subtleties of light. Her subjects are from her homeland;from Willunga & Whites Valley to Sellick's Beach, Port Willunga and McLarenVale depicting vineyards, wheatfields, oceans and rural farms.
