Style

I make tiles and small sculptures in clay (ceramics). The subject matter is predominately nature or mythology.
I also create mosaics with similar themes.

Biography

After seeing classical mosaics while travelling overseas, I decided to try the technique for myself. I completed several large pieces before deciding to make my own hand-made tiles. The original tiles have figures in relief and are designed to be incorporated with standard manufactured tiles.

In 2008 I was accepted as a member of the Adelaide Potters Club (APC) and have recently been voted onto the committee as membership officer. The club is an excellent resource, providing equipment, expertise, and a gallery to sell my work.

I have my own studio and utilise numerous techniques (including Raku firing) into my work.

For the last 12 months I have been making smaller feature tiles and sculptures with a natural history/mythology theme.

Achievements

I’m currently receiving steady sales of my work through the APC gallery. There has been strong demand for the small tiles (as fridge magnets) as well as the larger decorative tiles.

I’m available for suitable commissions and would be interested in community art projects.
