Biography

I was trained at SA School of Art and recently resumed painting as a full-time career. I am a member of Red House, RSASA (active in outdoor painting group) and Friends of SA School of Art.

My current works focus on the sea (its colours and movement) and unusual compositions derived from landscapes. My most popular works are my seascapes with recognisable local elements as well as small landscapes of Adelaide and surrounds.

My work is representational and inspired by the world around me but some paintings, particularly those that focus on water, reveal an evolution towards the abstract.

Achievements

I had a very successful solo show at Gallery M in 2009. Also in that year, I was a finalist in the Fleurieu Prize - Vistas section with a large landscape of Sellick's hillsides entitled "Don't look, just drive!".

Since then I have exhibited in group shows in Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne, SALA 2009 and 2010 as well as Adelaide Fringe group exhibitions in 2010 and 2011.

I am available for commissions and would be happy to play a small role assisting with community art projects. "Small role" because I have recently found that committee work has significantly reduced my time for art practice.
