Australian Partners of Defence (APOD) is Australia's official veteran benefits program delivering everyday savings to over 96,000 defence and veteran families in partnership with the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Government of Australia.
In recent years, APOD has had significant growth, resulting in the need for their team to expand to effectively meet their growing demand and the new areas of employer expertise required.
Knowing the complexities surrounding recruitment, APOD CEO Paul Broadbridge decided to engage Humanology Recruitment, a Tonsley based recruitment agency situated in the local CO-HAB coworking space. The reason for Paul's selection was simple, "you want to work with someone who knows their craft, has modern knowledge, and also the tools to streamline the process". Humanology Recruitment flips the standard recruitment process on its head to match the right person to the job faster.
Paul observed that one of the critical processes which set Humanology apart from other agencies is their understanding and unique focus on the science of people. One of Humanology's standout practices is the early onset of candidate psychometrics which helps "weed out those who aren't suitable, so you are left with a tighter group of top-tier candidates." The help of Humanology's experienced team allowed APOD to clearly measure what candidates were more likely to deliver and fit within their team culture. "Recruiting the right people through a cultural perspective and community fit is critical for the success of APOD, and we wouldn't have reached this without the help of Humanology."
Having developed a longstanding relationship, Humanology has now assisted APOD in recruiting over ten staff from various industry backgrounds. "You end up building the trust, and Humanology knows the type of people we are looking for and the culture we are trying to fit." APOD is trusted by over 2,900 brands and more than 21,000 locations across Australia. Paul emphasises that none of this would have been possible without his team, attesting they wouldn't have reached this without the help of Humanology as "none of this would have been possible without the team we have." As an organisation whose primary purpose is to recognise those who serve and give back to the community, it is important for Paul that this reflects in all aspects of APOD. "We like to support those in the coworking space here at Tonsley and within the Marion Council; it creates a sense of connection within the community, and it is great to invest in the success of the local businesses." Reflecting on the past twelve months, Paul wouldn't hesitate to engage with Humanology for future recruitment needs. He would encourage other businesses who have difficulties in this area to follow suit.
