Cat tracker

Ever wondered where your cat ventures to? Now’s your chance to find out, with Cat Tracker.

The project is designed for cat owners, non-cat owners and school classes.

  • Cat owners For cat owners in South Australia, Discovery Circle will loan you a GPS tracking device for your cats (for free!). They are easy-to-use and will help you discover where your cat goes.
  • Non-cat owners If you don’t own a cat, you can still contribute to the research through completing a survey.
  • Schools Discovery Circle has created extensive resources for teachers to use in the classroom, which provide cross-curriculum links to learning areas including science, mathematics, geography, history and the arts.

First 'cat tracks' released

The first 'cat tracks' have been generated, showing exactly where some cats venture. Cat tracks range from close to home, to across fields and even a busy road!

To view the tracks, visit the Cat Tracks page on the Discovery Circle's website.
