• To arouse interest in the history of Marion and South Australia.
• To promote the preservation of material relating to that history and encourage community access to that material.
• To assist in the preservation of buildings and sites significant to Marion.

All meetings (unless otherwise indicated) are held at the Cooinda Neighbourhood Centre, Sturt Road (behind the Council Chambers. Driveway entry off Diagonal Road) at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month.

In addition to attending the monthly public meetings, some members do one or more of the following activities:

• work on projects, such as books about Marion’s history (Yesterday’s Child, Tomorrow is Yesterday and The Colin Phelps Story) and the Closed Schools of Marion exhibition in 2011.
• volunteer at the Marion Heritage Research Centre (MHRC).
• volunteer at the Marion Historic Village Museum.
• prepare and guide walks or tours in the City of Marion.
• undertake research, take photographs, prepare information resources about aspects of Marion’s history for display in the MHRC and the Museum.

• $20 per person, $30 per family, payable to the Treasurer. The membership year runs from 1 February to 31 January.
