Development applications on public notification

The information provided below details development applications that are currently on public notification within the City of Marion, and is provided to assist the public about these specific applications during the ten business day notification period specified.

This information applies to applications lodged prior to 19 March 2021 only. For applications lodged from the 19 March 2021 please visit PlanSA.

The Development Act and Regulations require applications be classified into categories:

  • Category 2 or 3 applications require notification to owners and occupiers of adjacent land.
  • Category 3 applications are also advertised in the local Coast City Weekly newspaper.

The application details can also be viewed at Council's Administration Building, Development Services Counter at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt.

The recommended method of viewing plans during the notification period is via Councils website found at: www.marion.sa.gov.au/services-we-offer/planning-and-building/public-notifications.

Please call 8375 6685 or email marionds@marion.sa.gov.au to arrange an appointment if it is essential for you to view the plans in person. A printed copy of the plans can also be provided to notified properties, please note a fee of $25 is required to receive the printed plans, elevations and supporting documentation (to be determined by Planning Staff).

Please note for Category 2 development only properties owners notified will be permitted to view the plans in person (via appointment) and request a printed copy.

For Category 3 development, any person is entitled to view the plans in person (via appointment) and request a printed copy.

Please note that pursuant to section 38(17) of the Development Act 1993, if the application involves a Category 2 notification and you were not entitled to receive notice of the application in accordance with the Development Act 1993 and Development Regulations 2008, you cannot make a representation in relation to the application.

Lodging a representation

Should you wish to lodge a representation in respect to an application currently on notification, the Statement of Representation Form needs to be completed (sent via mail to relevant parties). It is important for you to complete all of the fields on the form and forward it to Council prior to the closing date stated in the application notice.

Public notifications - Category 2

Please note that pursuant to section 38(17) of the Development Act 1993, if the application involves a Category 2 notification and you were not entitled to receive notice of the application in accordance with the Development Act 1993 and Development Regulations 2008, you cannot make a representation in relation to the application.

Any person may lodge a written representation with us either individually or jointly with other persons within the ten business day notification period indicated on the application notice and as advertised in the Public Notices section of the Advertiser newspaper.
