Event details

Residents are invited to join us to celebrate the City of Marion Citizen of the Year Awards. The awards will be presented at a free community event at Hendrie Street Reserve, Park Holme, on Australia Day, 11am to 2pm, Tuesday, 26 January.

Awards will be presented in the categories of Citizen of the Year, Event of the Year, and Sports Person / Team of the Year.

The event includes a pubic citizenship ceremony. Guest speaker and Australia Day ambassador Mr John Raymond Shepherd AM will share his experiences as a community leader. Following the presentations there will be musical performances by local group Me ‘n’ Me Mates and the Marion City Band.

Families can enjoy a picnic on the grass and games as well as the Hendrie Street Reserve Inclusive Playground. Food and refreshments are available for purchase from the kiosk at the Marion Outdoor Pool. There will also be a coffee van at the reserve.

Please follow the latest government health guidelines regarding COVID-19, including physical distancing and good hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be available at the event. Please do not attend if you feel unwell. Please note that you will be required to check-in at the event using the displayed QR code.
