Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the name given to the techniques and activities undertaken to get your website on page one of Google.

We start with a no holds barred real life exercise where you find out how your business website stacks-up. We'll then cover what and how you can optimise text and links to get your page to rank higher on Google and other search engines. The seminar will take a brief look at Google My Business and Google Analytics. To get the best out of this seminar you will need:

  • editing access to your website
  • ability to write about the products you sell or services you offer
  • time and energy to implement the learning

Outcomes of this seminar

  • Understand what SEO is
  • Know what and how to implement two key SEO techniques
  • Identify link opportunities
  • Identify and use keywords on your website
  • Understand what content marketing is
  • Discover what a meta-description is
  • Be inspired to better understand Google Analytics
  • Understand how and when Google My Business operates

This is a beginner level seminar for sole traders and small business owners who have a website. SEO is not a quick fix. The tasks suggested in this seminar will take time and commitment to implement and to take effect. It covers practical Search Engine Optimisation techniques business owners can implement on their own website. It will not make you an SEO expert, but it will give you insight into some of the techniques the experts use.

Participants should bring a smartphone or laptop they can browse the internet with.
