Coffee With Culture Harmony

Celebrate Harmony Day and Australian multiculturalism with us. Journey around the world, visiting people from different countries over coffee and traditional afternoon tea - visit one or visit them all!

3.30pm ~ South Africa:

Meet Berenice! Berenice was born in Cape Town, South Africa and emigrated to Adelaide with her family in 1988 to start a new life away from the trauma of racial prejudice and civil unrest that was part of the Apartheid era.

Berenice will share interesting history about Cape Town, why it was chosen as a refreshment station in 1652 and why it is called the melting pot of nations over an authentic Cape-Malay doughnut (Koeksister), a favourite in her native home.
