Your festival experience starts here! Come along and enjoy breakfast over local, national and international dailies and join Michael McGuire, a journalist of 25 years as he talks about a period of almost unprecedented change in the newspaper industry. The industry has grappled with the advent of the internet, the ubiquity of the citizen journalist and the rise of fake news. The journalist of 25 years ago is a very different beast to the journalist of today. Newspapers and the media in general have struggled to keep up and now face existential threats. Yet, it's imperative that strong, fact-based journalism not only survives, but finds a way to thrive.
