This local marketplace event will be held at Parker’s Place, 104-106B Sturt Road, from 10am to 12 midday on Saturday, 5 June.

The event will include the unveiling of a plaque by Mayor Kris Hanna.

The shops at Parker’s Place will be open with the outdoor market adjacent on Launceston Avenue.

The stalls will offer local and handmade items such as candles, homewares, jewellery and artworks.

Visit the Parker’s Place stall and enter a free raffle to win one of 10 $25 vouchers to be used at Parker’s Place. Refreshments will be made available to purchase.

What work has been done?

  • Construction of new paved footpaths, planter box seating and rain garden with addition of new plants.
  • New banners to complement the upgrade have been installed.
  • Leaf decals have been installed on the pathway to complement existing murals.

The Federal Government Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program provided $108,000 to upgrade the streetscapes.

Stay safe

The event is being arranged in accordance with COVID-safe practices. Please follow the latest government health guidelines, including physical distancing and appropriate hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be available. Please do not attend if you are unwell.

Road closure

To ensure the safe set-up, pack down and operation of the market stalls, the following road closure will be in place from 7am until 2pm on Saturday, 5 June:

  • Cnr of Sturt Road and Launceston Avenue will be closed with traffic controls in place
  • There will be no parking along the shop front at Parker’s Place retail area from 7am – 12 midday
  • Detour signs will be set-up to help local residents access the area
  • Speed restrictions up to 25kmh will be in place near the shops and event site on Sturt Road from 7am-1pm
  • Traffic management staff will be onsite to assist motorists and pedestrians
