Shakespeare is often referred to as the ‘greatest playwright in the English language.’ What was so great about him? What are his plays about? How were they staged? Why is his language so admired? This illustrated presentation discusses the remarkable theatrical talent of this simple ‘Man from Stratford’ and considers why, nearly 400 years after his death, his plays are still so frequently performed all over the world. Presented by Dr Rosemary Nursey-Bray
